I just found a big paper cut striaght across my thumb, I didn't feel it and don't know when it happened?
Distraction therapy is becoming a recommended treatment for pain management, because pain is more profound when you are thinking about it, and less bothersome if you distract yourself from it and do other things.
You may remember similar times you cut yourself but didnt notice, but as soon as you saw the blood the pain was apparent.
