If her husband died with out a writing a will, she would not be able to take over anything, this includes money that she earned her self and land that she owned before her marriage. The Women s Right Movement, helped women throughout the country by passing law stating that women could own part of her husband estate. Women weren t supposed to be apart of the working world, through there were still women with jobs. However they had a hard time looking for good paying jobs because they got paid very low salaries and got very few hour compared to the men. The jobs that were available to them were being a school teacher or working in factories. The Women s Rights Movement allowed women to more long hours and a minimum wage. There were a group of rebels called the Flappers. These women were not considered as proper women to society. They wore dresses that made them look young and boyish, and cut their hair into bobs and later on even shorter haircuts. They were very independent and did not do what men told them to. They believed in living life to the full and partying, dancing, and their sense of fashion were their way of doing so. The Flappers rode bicycles, drove cars, drank in public, smoke cigarettes through long holders, and were sexually liberated. They threw petting parties which were modern sex parties. This group of independent women started a trend that even more respectable women follow in follow years but in a less out there manner.
