What is required to become a real estate agent?

  • Classes, degrees? What are they and where do go get them?

  • Nothing, unfortunately anyone can become a real estate agent, however if you want to be good you should work hard, network , find out about your people market and industry. Hard work and perserverence will make you the best and earn you the most.

  • That depends what your state requires. Most states require a certain amount of class time and courses and then you need to pass the required tests. Where I live..they offer the course at the local community college.

  • Classes at your local community college or trade school, take the state test, and go to work for a real estate office.

Oh yeah, the morals of a used car salesman helps a lot in this trade.

  • Most states require that you take some type of training course and pass an exam which may or may not be administered by the entity which sponsors the class. Your local college should be able to tell you what you must do to get the appropriate documents and certification. Visit your local Century 21 or ReMax office and talk to the people there. They can tell you how to pursue this career.

  • you do not need a license. Just use re-assignable option contracts using a llc corporation. You find sellers who sign the option to purchase to your company then you re-assign it to the buyer and take a nice profit.

  • You can go to almost any college or trade school and take the required courses. The classes required vary by state since these laws are regulated by state. Contact the real estate commission in your state to get details. They normally have a website that answers these questions.

Then there is normally a test and you normally have to get an established real estate broker to sponsor you.

After all that you can legally sell real estate for other people and get paid for it.

None of the classes that you took probably taught you how to sell real estate- so your broker and various organizations need to teach you those skills.

  • In NH you need a license to be a sales agent, which requires 40 hours of approved study, and passing a computerized quiz for $100. To be a broker requires one year of full-time work as a licensed salesperson, or 2,000 hours of part-time sales, 60 hours of additional training, and a certificate or degree (JD, MBA, BA, AA in real estate, or one of 7 approved industry certificates), plus a further broker's exam for another $100.
