Does Dell realize by China'ing their products that they will lose quality and in turn lose customers like me?

  • Corporate greed is the cause of this and it will ultimately bite them on the azz like what is happening in the financial markets today.

    Many have been brainwashed into accepting low quality products because you are fed that nonsense that everything must come from China so that we can afford it. It's funny, prior to 1990 America got along fine without China.......WTF happened?

  • You are irrelevant to their business plan. Dell deals in bottom line mass market computers where the difference in quality between high end and low end materials is negligible. The average computer buyer pretty much surfs the internet and listens to music, the same thing people have been doing since the 90's. For this purpose one does not need expensive cpus, low latency ram, and 80% certified power supplies when average chinese produced products are sufficient.

    Every store is connected to chinese products in some way, don't be naive. You can pay the premium for better quality goods if you wish, but right next to them will be the cheaper alternative where the bulk of store profits are made. The dollar sign tells the tale, and the lowest one is what the people want to hear.


  • Don't assume that everything built in China is garbage. The Chinese are quite capable of producing world class goods. Most of the stuff they make is garbage because that is what their customers want.

    If Dell insists on high quality goods the Chinese, who are very very good at producing what the customer wants, will produce high quality goods. It's that simple.
